Cool Plates features dishes from across the country to help inspire chefs' creativity.

Chef-owner George Formaro replaces the buns for this burger with macaroni-and-cheese patties that he breads and deep fries. Then he tops single, double and triple patties with bacon strips, caramelized onion, raw onion, mayonnaise and more Cheddar cheese.

The burgers sell for $7.49, $9.49 and $11.49, depending on the number of patties. Beef patties may be replaced with vegetarian patties, grilled portobello mushrooms or chicken breasts.
